Do the interface of computer change or effect humans, our feeling/ emotion?
Yes they actually did, a good interface equals to good emotion, and a bad interface equals to bad emotion.
A good interface means the computer contain good usability and functionality, it very convenient for human to work with, a good interface reduce the stress of human when they're using it, while a badly designed interface will increase the frustration of a person.
Not only the interface of computer must be good to effect human emotion. Do we need a computer to act like human as much as possible for human to communicate/ interact with the computers?
For Example, when an error occur should the computer say something polite/human-like replies to reduce the frustration of human? Some user prefer the old fashion way (error 404) but some user prefer a more human-like way (we are currently unable to log in this website, please be patience). There are a lot of question of installing human-like emotion to the computer, example, apologize, persuasion and lots more.
Anthropomorphism is any attribution of human characteristics (or characteristics assumed to belong only to humans) to animals, non-living things, phenomena, material states, objects or abstract concepts, such as spirits or deities. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthropomorphism] Example, when a student gets 10/10 from his/her quiz, the system will congrats him/her with "Well done, you just got a 100% full marks wonderful work" as praise. This phenomenon will effect will effect the student future work and this give the student a motivation. This phenomenon called Anthropomorphism.
In conclusion, this problem still occurring now, some people prefer the old fashion way and some want the computer to act like human, which it will reduce the stress of an individual.

Second Lecture: Problems between Human and Computer.
Human
A creature in the earth has life which had evolve enough to have many different abilities. Human can memorize, problem solving and interacting with others thing. Even if there is any problem occurs, human can quickly stimulate a problem solving skills, they can even memorize thing quickly and learn from others very fast. They have languages that could help them to communicating, even the languages are different, human can still communicate with body language. That's a Human, the most special creature on the earth. Human will have health problem which could possibly cause them die. Human also has relationship with the environment which the designs, environment factor would affects a human. Human has emotion, which made them has different personalities and lifestyle.
Computer
A device or tools made by human, which only works with hardware and software. Computer are different than human, it memorize when it is needed only. it can be freely to remove any memories in a computer. Computer is just a tools that waiting for others to interact. They do not have any problem solving skills unless it is been set, but it do helps human to solve their problem in easier way. Computer can have many different languages but it do not communicate with others by itself. Computer do not have emotion that same like human, they aren't a living things.
And what is the problem now between human and computer?
Human requesting a better computer which can archiving their fits.
Those fits including the Expressive Interfaces, User Frustration, Persuasive Technologies and Anthropomorphism.
In the past, HCI is just an efficient and effective system tools for human, human just use computer for working purpose during the past. So, human doesn't care about the design of the computer during the past. But due to the technologies improvement, the technologies now are very impressive, and the needs of the human also has changed. Today, human expect for more better design and interaction system for a computer. So, the computer now has any different interaction and design that respond peoples in different way.

Expressive Interaction
The computer now are different than the old century computer, they can have many styles and even can be adjust by human themselves. The design of the computer, which include the colors, icons, interface, graphic elements are well designed for the computer to make the interface appealing. This is because to build relationship and interaction between user and computer and making it more natural and human-like. Unlike the old computer, they can have many fancy thing inside and made the computer looks unique and has personalities. Human do not likes those computer that do not have any designs, that's look dead for them.
User Frustration
A user friendly interface could attract the user and get them love its. But remember, computer do not have emotion so they could feel anything a Human does. But why a human still likes to confess they feeling to a computer? That I do not know it. And that's why, computer has been designed become more human-like to fits the human's need. Well, people do not like to use the poor interface system. When, they are not get used to a interface, they will starting to get frustrated and yell at the computer. So, the interface design of a computer is important because it is interacting with human. Except from interface, some other elements also needed to be aware, like the error messages. When a computer are getting error, the message gave to the user will effect how they feel about it. Error messages always make people frustrated. So, Reeves and Naas (1996) said that the computers should be make to apology. And so, people will not get frustrated on a computer. Like example, between " Error, Crashed " and "I am sorry, it is crashed. Please try again.", the second would look more friendly and human-like.
Persuasive Technologies
Interactive Computing systems deliberately designed to change peoples attitudes and behaviours(Fogg 2003).
It is some techniques to change or manipulate the thinking of the humans decision and action. The pops-up ads, warning message, reminders, prompts, personalised message, recommendations and others, are all the techniques of persuasive. It come to pull people mind to others places which accomplish their mission when a people has reach their purpose. Just like pops-up ads, the ads is attracting the user and persuade the user to click on it and reach others website. Warning message to warn the user and change their mind from getting through the way they originally wanted to get through.
Anthropomorphism
It is an action which attributing human like qualities to inanimate objects or anything not human. This phenomenon are occurs often. Human always expect computer could be more human-like, and that make this problem occurs. in some situation, human does like the computer can be more human-like to ease their pressure and demands. Well, computer have no emotion isn't it? but from a message "You have answered right all the question" adding a "great job" at behind, the message could make a person feel better. This is what a phenomenon called anthropomorphism.
So, in conclusion., Human are the one who actually making the problems between computer and themselves.
Facing the computer and expressing the feeling are just a dumb action. But actually everyone does that before when computer are hanging and yelled at the computer. So, computer are meant to be important to have a great interaction, designs and expressive interface.

Week 3 - Problem between human and computer By Tai Qiu Xian
Nowadays, the problem that we face in our daily life is our self with the computer. Human brain can memories things, have perception and can solve problem by its own. Computer is the combination of hardware and software which that cannot solve problem by its own and need a host to make it work. The computer need instruction from human and it need lot of instruction in specific field from human when it start works.
Before this, human computer interaction (HCI) is about efficient and effective system but today HCI is more about how design interactive systems that make people respond in certain way. If a computer want a achieves the fit is to consider about expressive interface, user frustration, persuasive technologies and anthropomorphism.
Expressive interface is all about colour, icons, sound, graphic element and animation to make interface appearing. It is to build a relationship between the user and machine and make it more natural and human like. Expressive interface can provide reassuring feedback.

User frustration is about what user like or dislikes are share. We have to remember that “one size does not always fix all”. For example, the error message that show in our computer, the message does not show clearly that what cost of the error. To provide a good error message, we have to follow 5 of the element which is avoid using term like FATAL, INVALID, BAD, audio warning, avoid UPPER-CASE and long code numbers, messages should be precise rather than vague, provide context (sensitive help). A bad interface design will make people frustration.
Persuasion is about interactive computing systems deliberately designed to change people attitudes and behaviours (Fogg, 2003). Persuasion is to change what they do or think. For example, pop up ads, warning messages, reminders, prompts, personalised messages and recommendations.
Anthropomorphism is attributing human like qualities to any object and it is well known phenomenon. Anthropomorphism also and interpretation of what is not human or personal in terms of human or personal characteristics. For example, when human interacting with a computer with a good design, human will keep on prise the product of the design and introduce it to the people around him, this is one of the act of anthropomorphism.
In conclusion, computer is making easier for human being nowadays. It is because computer is the modern technology to let human being work easier and faster in their life. We can use this technology anytime and anywhere with just a small laptop and internet connection.We can do almost everything in the computer by just clicking a single button. For example, we can communicate face to face with each other by using video call no matter how far they are. A good computer is important to have a good interaction with human.

What is Interaction? What is Interaction Studies? What do HCI mean?
Basically the term Interaction mean communication between two living object through various of media like internet, letter, mail and so on.
Another meaning for Interaction is the feedback from machine, where human interact with machine to receive feedback from it, in other word to make the machine to work by interact with it. For example, car, computer, house-hold machine and much more.
Interaction Studies is a study of the human and social behaviors on how they communicate.

Design also will affects human emotion or or manipulate their selection. Example, the bicycle are now turning into motorbike which can travel much faster than bicycle. Another is the packaging, different packaging will attract different people's attention.

It is like wiki says, Interaction Design is the practice of the designing interactive digital products, environments, systems and services. Example like computers, hand phones and more. Interaction design is very important for a designer because it helps to make an product can be successfully used by peoples. A friendly interaction design product will get used easily by the audience and they will like the product. Interaction design mostly focus heavily on satisfying the target audiences what they needed and who will use the product. It depends one the target audiences, who they might be and design for only them. Just like iPhone, It designed for the young generation, they can easily understand and get used on the application and interface of the iPhone, but when comes to the older people, most of them do not really know how to interact with it. A successful interaction design mostly have give best interaction for the audience.

Basically interaction mean something that can be touch by us. An example such as computer device, we use a mouse to control where we want to click in and a keyboard to type in data to electronic device or can be known as how we control the whole system. Interaction also brings good and bad, if a good interaction are there then the whole process are smooth and well control but not in the other hand that is bad interaction.

Do you know what is the meaning of interaction? The meaning of Interaction is a user when try to use a product or device that user daily use such as cell phone, laptop, mouse, ATM machine , car park ticket machine and endless product that are easy, comfortable, and enjoyable to use. Many products that require users to interact with them to carry out their tasks have not necessarily been designed with the users in mind, with these interaction experiment the designer know what is necessary and what is not that will help to improve the product to be more friendly user.
We can judge a product with good or bad interaction design based on user interaction experiment. A good design is based on how the user feel about the product and how well they use the product, with good interaction design ,the user will know how to use the product very well without reading the user manual. On the other hand, if the products with a bad interaction design, the user will feel uncomfortable with the product because it is very confusing and difficult to use.
Human computer interaction (HCI) is about how human or users interact with computer. Computer is a need for everyone nowadays, no matter is young or old, rich or poor; everyone should have a computer in their life. We have to think about how user use computer that use in their daily life. Some use for entertainment, some use for education and some use for their living. But not all of them enjoy using computer, with the interaction experiment some user use it very suffering because of this issue, the designer use the concept or principle of interaction design to invent or reinvent a much better product for the user.
Design is everywhere. Design is making better for people and could be viewing as an activity that translate an idea into a blueprint for something useful whether it is a car, building, graphic and etc. Design have relate with user, creativity and business. Design is relate to user is because when a product is designed, the product will be used by the user. The relation of design and creativity is when your creativity has a limit, design is limited. The relation of design and business is when the product with the good design, the business will grow. The goal of interaction is to develop tool to help designer match applicable design technique to a range of target behaviours.
